IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS REGARDING THE USE OF THE ROADS DURING THE COMPETITION, ACCORDING TO THE FRENCH LAW.
The courses of the individual Time Trial and the Team Relay Race are totally closed to traffic. The roads for both Road Races are not closed to traffic, with the exception of the first 10kms and last 10kms, plus a few descents. Riders have to stay on the right side of the road, it is forbidden to cross the median of the road as oncoming vehicles can be expected. Each event is followed by a broom wagon in contact by radio with the Race Director’s team and the Medical Supervisor. Each Peloton is protected by its own safety infrastructure: Race Director – Security Motorcycles (5) – Racers – Mechanical Help – Commissaires – Security Services (Gendarmerie – motorcyclists and road stewards) will give the right of way to the groups at intersections, but racers must respect the rules of the Road, particularly when riding alone.
The courses are secured by • 20 Gendarmes, • 50 motorcyclists, • 210 roads stewards, • 3 doctors, • 3 first-aid stations, • 3 mobile medical teams. • 3 feeding zones are placed on the courses, staffed by 30 volunteers.
